The Research of the Week award goes to:

"How to Assess Your IT Service Availability Levels" by Donna Scott

This Research Note analyzes polling data collected at Gartner's Data Center conference in Las Vegas in December 2008. Since there aren't any metrics for service availability, this research represents measurements for IT services (ITIL v.2, ITIL v.3) or business services (ITIL v.3), which are otherwise known as end-to-end application availability metrics. The metrics involve end-to-end availability. All enterprises should measure the availability levels of mission-critical IT services - if you don't measure, then you can't identify opportunities for continuous improvement and this RN provides guidance on how to go about creating metrics.
