Things You Should Never, Ever, Outsource
Author: Peter Redshaw, Gartner Research Director I've got my own ideas about what constitutes "Things You Should Never, Ever, Outsource" but I'll bet everyone else has their own pet list of millstones they'd love to get rid of and jewels they'd hate to lose control over. I'll be intrigued to hear from you all what some of those things are (do let me know!) but the cold reality is that they're going to be different for every organization, so I don't intend presenting a long list of do's and don'ts. Just as important as deciding what to outsource is going to be figuring out how you can ever bring it back in-house or switch to another provider. That sort of flexibility is a common thread throughout all the IT strategies we see in Financial Services these days and outsourcing is no exception. |
