Virtualization Management
Author: Cameron Haight, Gartner Research VP For those of you that have VMware, you are probably using products such as VirtualCenter to manage and administer the environment. VirtualCenter has many excellent capabilities, but we also know about some limitations. It has limited visibility into what is happening within the VM guest, it doesn't provide much insight into the SAN environment, and at least today, you cannot federate multiple instances (i.e., consoles). Are there other areas that you'd like to see VMware improve VirtualCenter's management capabilities? We'll be exploring this as well as the offerings from other management vendors at the upcoming Gartner Data Center Conference. |
